To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Completed DSC Request form
  • Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
  • Proof of current vehicle liability insurance

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Uniform Certificate of Completion from an approved DSC provider
  • Certified Type 3A driver record from Texas DPS ($12)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Submit the 'Request For Driver Safety Course' application on or before your scheduled court appearance date. Do not enroll before court approval.
  • Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete the course and submit both documents..
  • Must plead guilty or no contest, present a valid TX license/permit, show insurance, affirm no DSC in 12 months, and not hold a Class A/B CDL.
  • Ineligible: speeding 95+ or 25+ over, no insurance, hit-and-run, fleeing, passing a stopped school bus, reckless driving, work-zone violations.
  • Court cannot recommend a school; pick a state-approved provider.
