DSC Court Fees
⚠ All-in fee covers state costs, traffic fine, and admin fee. A separate $12 is paid to Texas DPS for the certified Type 3A driving record.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request form
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of current vehicle liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Uniform Certificate of Completion from an approved DSC provider
- •Certified Type 3A driver record from Texas DPS ($12)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Submit the 'Request For Driver Safety Course' application on or before your scheduled court appearance date. Do not enroll before court approval.
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete the course and submit both documents..
- •Must plead guilty or no contest, present a valid TX license/permit, show insurance, affirm no DSC in 12 months, and not hold a Class A/B CDL.
- •Ineligible: speeding 95+ or 25+ over, no insurance, hit-and-run, fleeing, passing a stopped school bus, reckless driving, work-zone violations.
- •Court cannot recommend a school; pick a state-approved provider.
