DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court costs per Bastrop Municipal Court Standing Order XI (eff. 09/03/2024): $144 non-school zone, $169 school zone.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Plea of no contest or guilty plus written DSC request
- •Sworn affidavit that you have not taken a DSC in the 12 months before the violation
- •Valid non-CDL Texas driver's license (out-of-state OK for US military/dependents)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Payment of court costs ($144 / $169 school zone)
- •Within 90 days: court copy of the TDLR uniform DSC completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Within 90 days: Texas driving record (DPS Type 3 or 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request by the initial appearance date on the citation; all request items due by that date.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the DSC request to submit the completion certificate and driving record..
- •Eligibility: no DSC in the 12 months before the violation; offense not excluded under CCP 45A.
- •Court address is 104 Grady Tuck Lane, Bastrop, TX 78602 (not City Hall on Chestnut St).
- •Certificate completion date must be after the violation date and on or before the 90th day.
- •Failure to comply triggers a Show Cause hearing set at least 30 days out.
