DSC Court Fees

Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed, notarized affidavit requesting DSC (must be submitted on or before appearance date)
- •Copy of Texas or Oklahoma driver's license (or proof of military membership)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Upon completion: DSC completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Upon completion: certified copy of driving record from Texas DPS (obtainable at Texas.gov)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your appearance date shown on the citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval.
- •DSC affidavit must be notarized before submission — plan ahead to find a notary.
- •Eligibility: no DSC taken in the past 12 months; not cited for speeding 25+ mph over limit; no commercial driver's license.
- •Driving record must be certified and obtained from Texas DPS via Texas.gov.
- •Court meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm; clerks available Mon–Thu 7:45 am–5:00 pm, Fri 7:45 am–12:45 pm.
