How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Valid Texas driver's license (copy for mail submissions)

- •Court cost payment (cashier's check or money order for mail; payment in person or online)
- •Notarized Request for Driver Safety Course form (certified mail only)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A certified driving record from DPS (required for mail and online completion submissions)
- •Certificate of Completion — court copy, signed (submitted after course completion)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Within 10 calendar days from the date the citation was issued
- •Completion window: 90 days from written court approval.
- •Do not take the course or request your driving record until you have received written approval from the Municipal Court.
- •CDL holders are not eligible for DSC dismissal (Art. 45.051 C.C.P.).
- •Failure to complete the course or return the certificate within 90 days may result in a Show Cause Hearing and potential warrant.
- •Court fees and fines vary by violation — call the court after the 3rd business day following citation issuance for the exact amount.
