Who This Course Is For

Texas first-time applicants age 18–24 (mandatory), optional for 25+.

Requirements & Deadlines

• 6-hour TDLR-approved course
• Includes DPS written test if taken online

Submission Details

Certificate Submission: Form ADE-1317 (online) or DE-964 (classroom) must be presented at DPS

Reporting Method: Submit certificate to DPS when taking road test

Deadlines: Certificate valid until used; Impact Texas Adult Driver video required within 90 days

Court vs Insurance Use

For Court / Tickets

Not for ticket dismissal.

For Insurance

May qualify for insurance discounts depending on insurer.
